Facilitation Services, Consultation, and Technical Assistance
Community Colleges CAN!
is a two-year project funded by the U.S. Department of Education and administered by the Office of Vocational and Adult Education (OVAE). The primary aim of the Community Colleges Can project is to improve student achievement, access and persistence in higher education, and to strengthen the capacity of community colleges to provide high-quality education and learning support.
JBL Associates operated a year-long practitioner technical assistance and mentoring program which fostered collaborative learning among community college practitioners. Its purpose was to develop professional programs, diffuse best practices knowledge, and showcase exemplary community college programs through case studies and the public dissemination of information.
The centerpiece of the Community Colleges Can project was the mentoring program, which provided practitioners the opportunity to receive continuous guidance and technical assistance and to engage in collaborative work within a highly facilitated and distributed learning community setting. Eighteen colleges represented by over one hundred practitioners participated in the program. For more information on this project, please contact at 301-654-5154.
