Our History
JBL Associates, Inc. (JBLA) was founded by John B. Lee (Ed.D.) in 1985, and has provided research and policy analysis to the post secondary education community for almost 25 years. Based in Bethesda, Maryland, just outside Washington, D.C., our firm helps clients develop and evaluate policies and practices through the application of qualitative and quantitative analytic techniques. We utilize data from an extensive library that includes all national databases relevant to postsecondary education, supplemented with local or state data, to meet the unique needs of our clients.
JBLA’s key areas of expertise include institutional finance, student aid policy, comparison of faculty salaries and higher education staffing, state governance issues, and detailed knowledge of federal policy.
JBLA’s are wide-ranging—from working with a single institution of higher education to document its economic contribution to the community, to helping design national policy options for federal agencies. Each year we prepare dozens of reports and presentations for diverse audiences including the higher education community, legislators and legislative staff, federal and state policy makers, boards of trustees, and specialized research and academic groups.
JBLA can help your organization, as we have done for so many others, including:
- Lumina Foundation
- National Education Association
- U.S. Department of Education
