Lawrence Gladieux
Lawrence E. Gladieux is an independent higher education consultant living in McLean, VA. His clients have included the Century Foundation, EdFund of California, the James Irvine Foundation, the federal Advisory Committee on Student Financial Assistance, the National Center for Public Policy and Higher Education, the College Board, The Mckenzie Group, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the US Department of Education. Mr. Gladieux received his bachelor’s degree cum laude in government from Oberlin College, where he served as trustee from 2001 to 2004, and received his master’s from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.
From 1981 to 1993 he was executive director of the Washington Office of the College Board, and from 1993 to 2000 he was the organization’s executive director for policy analysis. Gladieux has presented testimony to Congress and written widely on issues of the high school-to-college transition, equity, access, affordability, and the impact of technology on the delivery of higher education. He was inducted into the College Scholarship Service “Hall of Fame” in 2004.
